# Get Started with the Romans Expository Commentary App

> Open a chapter, jump to a specific verse, run a full-text search, and export your first chapter in four simple steps. No account required.

You'll be reading commentary and navigating verses within a minute. No account or login is required — the app is ready to use the moment you open it.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open a chapter">
    Click any chapter number in the left sidebar. The main reading pane immediately displays that chapter's title, its theme summary, and the full list of verse-by-verse commentary entries — ready to read from top to bottom or to jump to any specific verse.

  <Step title="Navigate to a verse">
    Click the caret (▶) next to a chapter in the sidebar to expand its verse list, then click any verse reference — for example, **1:16** — to scroll directly to that entry in the main pane. The verse briefly highlights in gold so you can spot it at a glance, even in a long chapter.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Search the commentary">
    Click the search bar at the top of the page — or press `/` from anywhere in the app — and type at least two characters. Results appear instantly with your search term highlighted inline. Click any result to jump straight to that verse in the commentary.

  <Step title="Export your chapter">
    Click the **Export** button in the top-right corner of the app. Choose one of the following options to download the chapter you are currently reading:

    * **Current Chapter — Plain Text** — saves a `.txt` file, ideal for note-taking or pasting into other tools.
    * **Current Chapter — HTML** — saves a formatted `.html` file, suitable for printing or archiving with styling intact.

    To save the entire commentary at once, select **Full Commentary — Plain Text** or **Full Commentary — HTML** from the same menu.
